AML Policy
An overview of the anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing measures applied at registration, on deposits and on withdrawals. The page explains which documents are required, when enhanced checks apply, how transactions are monitored and how long records are kept. It also sets out what happens when a player does not provide the requested documents.
Purpose and scope
This policy sets out the measures the platform takes to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing. It applies to every registered player and to every deposit, stake and withdrawal in pounds sterling, whichever payment method is used. Staff and external service providers with access to payment data are bound by the same rules. The document tells players in advance which information may be requested and in which situations.
Legal framework
The procedures are based on the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002, the Terrorism Act 2000, the Money Laundering, Terrorist Financing and Transfer of Funds (Information on the Payer) Regulations 2017, the recommendations of the Financial Action Task Force and the licence conditions set by the UK Gambling Commission. Where one source sets a stricter requirement than another, the strictest standard applies. The policy is reviewed regularly and updated whenever the law or regulatory guidance changes.
Customer due diligence
At registration, the player’s name, date of birth, residential address, email address and phone number are recorded. To verify these details, the compliance team requests valid photo ID, proof of address dated within the last three months and proof of the payment method used. Under UK Gambling Commission rules, age and identity checks are completed before the first deposit or bet, so no play is possible on an unverified account. Deposits are also assessed cumulatively, which means splitting a larger sum into several smaller transfers does not avoid a check. A withdrawal request remains pending until all documents have been approved.
Enhanced due diligence
Stricter checks apply to politically exposed persons, to players from jurisdictions with a higher risk of money laundering and to amounts that are out of line with previous gambling activity. In these cases, additional documents such as a payslip, a bank statement or a sale agreement are requested to show the source of funds. Names are also screened against the UK sanctions list and international sanctions lists. Each case is assessed individually and never on the basis of a single indicator.
Transaction monitoring
All payments are monitored on an ongoing basis, partly by automated systems and partly through manual review. Particular attention is paid to deposits withdrawn almost immediately with little or no play, to the use of several payment methods in quick succession and to amounts that repeatedly fall just below a check threshold. Any alert leads to further investigation and may temporarily suspend a withdrawal.
Payments and accounts
Deposits are accepted only from a bank account, debit card or e-wallet registered in the player’s own name. Withdrawals are returned to the same method where technically possible, and otherwise to an alternative method in the same name. Transfers between player accounts are not possible, and payments to or from third parties are refused. Each person may hold only one account. If a player switches to a different bank or e-wallet, the new payment method is checked again.
Reporting and record keeping
Transactions that remain unusual after investigation are reported to the National Crime Agency through a Suspicious Activity Report. The player concerned is not informed, because tipping off is a criminal offence under UK law. Identification documents, correspondence and transaction records are kept for five years after the end of the business relationship and are accessible only to authorised staff.
Responsibilities within the organisation
A nominated Money Laundering Reporting Officer oversees compliance and acts as the point of contact for the UK Gambling Commission and law enforcement. Staff who handle player files or payments complete training on recognising suspicious patterns at least once a year. Internal reports are treated confidentially.
Consequences of non-compliance
A player who refuses to provide the requested documents or supplies false information will have their account blocked. The balance may be frozen while an investigation is under way, and confirmed misuse leads to permanent closure with no entitlement to winnings from the transactions concerned. Any block is explained in writing, to the extent the law allows.
Questions about this policy
For an explanation of a verification request or the status of an ongoing check, players can contact customer support using the form on the website. Requests are handled in the order they are received.
